I felt like I was watching GOAT royalty today. I mean it was a who's who of Pax: Auto von Buffman, The great DonHolio, Fro-to-the-dizo, DuckyDynasty, All-you-see-is-my Heelys cuz I'm too fast, PopCorn the Great, I'm-so-Hoody.
Kind of like watching the Dream Team. Or like the opposite of the Detroit Lions (Mr Holland).
The Vern today had all the heavy hitters.
But just like the Dream Team had MJ. And the NFL has Tom Brady. There can be only one Vern GOAT: Swingstate.
We did The classic Vern today of five sets of pull-ups, bench dips, mericans, LBCs:
50 pull-ups
100 bench dips
125 Merkins
150 LBCs
All mixed with 4 miles of running.
Well most of us did the classic Vern. Swingy continue to prove his GOAT status by double lapping us and doing 7 sets. I mean WTF. Some people are just built different.
Other notable awesomeness from today:
- 8 guys showed for the standard. They went far and fast before even doing the Vern. Talk about fitness level, these men are forces of nature. So much so that I took a left turn at Barre class as I was afraid of fatigue failure before the workout even started.
- Gambini showed for his first FKT. Looked like it was his hundredth. He fit right in. I suspect that he will be back for more weekly from now on. He seems to embrace the suck of FKT as good as anyone. Also I will be calling him a big wuss all over Twitter if he doesn't.
- Scrapalicious brought the much needed tunes. Eminem bumping as we ran down the road. He, as always, also brought the energy.
- Cherry bomb showed up significantly late, got called out for attempting to cut the beginning run short, then after going back and running the appropriate start proceeded to not only catch me but completely dominate me. It must be his sexy new shoes or a sexy new tan.
- Slingshot broke my soul and completely dominated me on the run back home.
- It was awesome to see 17 pax show for one of the toughest workouts, at THE toughest AO in North Carolina. Thanks guys for kicking my ass I enjoyed every second.
