Samson Super Bowl I

YHC admits to oversleeping on Weds and missing Ludicrous/running, but knowing there are often some Samson pax who can’t or don’t run, YHC came up with a workout to meet all pax needs, as well as one which might spark some competition and play off a Super Bowl theme given the game coming up on Sunday.

So YHC put together the “Samson Super Bowl I” and perhaps we’ll do this annually, or even more often. It seems to have potential, but might be more fun with more than 3 players!

 

Warm-o-Rama.  This was a brief and simple 25 SSHs in cadence.  Got the arms and legs moving, heart pumping.

Pick a team.  The Force and POS chose RUNNERS.  Tuffy chose LIFTERS.

 

Each team can perform exercises of their choice (from each playbook), each worth a pre-determined # of points per set, per lap, etc.

Each pax records their points on the scoreboard.

Exercises to choose from:

Full lap = 50 pts

Full set Colt 45 = 10 pts (need to change this to 20 pts for Samson SB II)

20 merkins = 10 pts

20 squats IC with blocks = 20 pts

20 Squats IC (no block) = 10 pts

20 Jump Squats single = 15 pts

30 Skull Crushers IC = 20 pts

20 Shoulder Press IC ‎ = 20pts

15 Lawn Mowers set of 15 IC/arm = 15 pts (Also worth 20 pts next time – takes a while to get through)

23 Christian McCalf-Raise IC =15 pts

10 Pull-ups = 20 pts

In the end, Team RUNNERS tallied up 760 points and Tuffy 505 points.  Strong showing by Tuffy who kept complaining the scoring system wasn’t fair.  Divide Team RUNNERS pts by 2 and Tuffy wins 505 to 380.  But YHC got in about 6 laps and some lifting and POS had a nice balance as well.  Tuffy even took a lap.  Everyone won today, no trophies were awarded.
