When it comes to September Mornings it's hard to put into words the feeling at "Five at Five Thirty". Perhaps Neil Diamond summed it up best when he sang September Morn:
Stay for just a while
Stay and let me look at you
It's been so long, I hardly knew you
Standing in the door
I think is how we all felt watching Strom get the coffee started in the kitchen. I dunno. Maybe it was just me.
In any event, school is in, vacation is over, and runners from far and wide were out in full force this morning as we ran distances from 2-5'ish miles depending on your tastes.
A few highlights:
- Caesar and his scale are back. Get on that thing and take any actions necessary. Bourbon could be at stake.
- We all know Maverick has been putting in the miles, because we all see him doing so at about 8 am. Today we had an early Maverick sighting, and just like Captain Pete Mitchell, Maverick was showing us how it's done!
- Oshkosh reported that he and his beautiful bride ran the "Around the Crown" 10 K. Nice work!
- Atomic Dog was back in the saddle after a brief (2 year) break. He and Einsten together make a formidable team. They should post at Fission together so we can blow Cornelius off the map.
- FNG's are Tulu (not on the site??) and Kid Rock's nephew who is house sitting for the Motor City Madman. Party at Kid Rock's house every night until he finds out? And then continue the party because he's not here!
- Outlaw came in hot. But he backed it up by running hot too. He's just hot.
- Moby Dick opines that everyone wants to be a ski patroller (until it's time to do ski patrol sh*t).
- What's left of Macbeth is on the comeback trail. Lean and mean. Strong!
- Omega in his Jeep seems like he should be patrolling some beach.
- Grenade was actually looking like a personified Yacht Rock song today. Smooth and rhtythmic.
- All Tuna Relay pax are looking strong. Aye.
- Notable absentees included Shake and Full Moon, but there was Alabama smack talk about something.
- The Sudz,, The Thug, The 'Boat, The Star and The Goat were just quietly putting in work. YHC never saw Cousin Eddie, but he's rooming with all the wives at the Tuna, so there's that.
Good work men!
