YHC learned of a covert operation apparently starting the night before, whereby Shake and Waffle were working together to determine if the normally scheduled Viking workout could be moved a little later, given the holiday season. A selfish YHC, already in the habit of being wide awake at 4:30 AM on most weekdays, briefly considered the option, but proceeded with the normal pre-blast, calling for the 530 AM beatdown.
YHC noticed what appeared to be a VW sedan?? with two PAX pull into the lot shortly after arriving. Not recognizing the vehicle, YHC pleasantly surprised and happy to have Dry Rub and Magnus join us at Viking.
As expected, our Mall Walkers, Blackbeard and Titan, also joined in on the workout festivities.
A Strava verified 1.4 miles were covered on a route taking the long way around and into NMP, stopping a few times for air squats, merkins, mountain climbers, and some mobility moments before arriving towards the back of the park under the picnic shelter. There, the PAX performed a couple sets of alternating step ups X 10 and incline merkinsz
Mosey around the track, passing our Mall Walkers, Blackbeared and Titan, going the opposite direction. PAX stopped briefly on far side of track performing merkins and hand planks as well as 10 burpees OYO. Mosey back around the track stopping at the playground.
PAX gathered on the wall at playground for People’s Chair, Air Presses, and Praying Mantis’. YHC explained to the others not there for the prior week about the nonsense discussion around the mating behaviors of praying mantis. Not sure anyone really thought it was funny except YHC.
Mosey to rock pile for rock curls, bent over rows, and rock presses. Shaken’s audible for Skull Crushers well received by YHC, as PAX added a set of tricep work per Shake’s request.
Mosey back to parking lot for a bit of MARY, ending with Roadie’s final set of Freddy Mercury.

- Please consider the Mount Afton Challenge on January 14th, a worthy cause which recognizes mental illness and suicide prevention, especially among men. One of our very own F3 PAX in Concord took his life back in 2021 and this has been an extremely impactful event to honor and recognize him and others struggling with mental illness (signup below)
