Good Morning Lake Norman Cyclists and runners-and-habitutal-boot-campers-yet-to-be-converted,
Das Boot had the brilliant idea of trying to jam as many climbs in to a 60 min route as possible. Not bad for a Harvard guy. This is the 2nd or 3rd running (or riding, Duvall, sorry) of the "8 Steeps" route. Quick ride with about as many hills as you can get in a short period of time.
We rolled at a solid clip of about 18 for the ride and went WFO on Grey Road.
There were quite a few jabs at the recently circulated article about "The Rules" http://www.velominati.com/the-rules/ and the best one of the day was when Creeper strolled by me at the end of Gray road and casually muttered #90 – "Never Get Out of The Big Ring." I thought I had him, but Strava don't lie. We thought for sure we had PR's, but today was not our day for Gray.
Finished off with a two house cups of Mt. Kilimanjaro or whatever Summit provisioned (hipster word) and were joined by the captain of the No Fun Run Club, Duvall.
See you on at 0600 Sunday for the Reeboc. We are rolling at 0600 sharp unless Creeper forgets his shoes.
(Ride extra early because of children or cars or commitments or church)
With Love,
Swamp T.
