Skinny BB: Outer Limits & Sri Lanka Tribute

 Not listed above, Barbarino.

Great morning in Summers Walk. Thanks to Swing State for making the trek from Davidson East to Davidson Easterer. Swing noted that the Davidson East pool opens this weekend, signaling the official Outer Limits EH season.

Warmup:

Included warmup things.

Mosey 1 mile through Carolina Thread Trail with headlamps to the Davidson Greenway in River Run.

The Thang:

Gathered at the beginning of the Davidson Greenway and circled up.

Acknowledged the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka over easter weekend.

Noted how quickly I swiped out of the notification to continue what I was doing on my phone at the moment.

I, personally, am too desensitized to tragedy I suppose as I did not let the weight of that tragedy move me at the moment. I was personally ashamed of this did a "heart check" this week. Could you imagine if that happened to a few hotels and churches here in LKN?

In honor of the 257 lost lives, the pax performed 257 reps of the following:

Merkin, Squat, WWII Sit up – in Silence.

We each individually worked our way through the series, no mumble chatter with the occasional grunt.

Mosey back to the Clubhouse for some Mary:

Moleskin:

Noodle joined us with Alphie for the COT. Chicken Noodle has been a light in our neighborhood and is a big piece of keeping the forward momentum going. Glad he could join us as he rests up this week.

One of the unique characteristics of the Outer Limits is that our COT takes place exactly where the Hough High School bus picks up the neighborhood students. The bus usually arrives around 6:16 – 6:19, so we are generally closing it out as the students gather.

I think it is a really powerful thing for young men and women to see a bunch of sweaty dudes/dads huddled up and praying for the neighborhood as they get on the bus. I particularly love that my 2.0 joins in with us.

One of these days, we will greet the kids with Donuts and breakfast. I'll take the lead on that one.

Enjoyed leading this morning and hope everyone has a great week.

SYITG or most likely on a bike ride,
