Tres hombres came out to Muscle Beach for a heaping helping of AMRAP and EMOM. Two of the three in attendance had weights (Doh!)

The Thang

Part 1 – Timed set. Do the following exercises for 45 seconds each

  • Dumbbell overhead Flutter
  • Front lunge to back lunge – Right leg
  • Front lunge to back lunge – Left leg
  • Arnold press 
  • Dumbbell swing
  • Bicep curls
  • 30 sec rest

 We did this set thrice

Part 2 – AMRAP. Do the following exercises and reps as many times as possible within 5 minutes

  • Assisted tuck up – 8
  • Skull crusher – 8
  • Dumbbells thrusters – 8

Part 3 – EMOM. Do the following exercises and reps every minute on the minute. Rest if you finish before the minute is up

  • Leg lifts and Snatch (right arm) – 8 each
  • Russian twist and Snatch (left arm) – 8 each

We did this thrice, with 10 reps of each on last set

Moleskine

  • Schwinn and Grip really complemented each other today. Hollar had no weights but great form, and Grip had weights but very poor form
  • Taking your daughters thru the Red Light district in Switzerland is a great fatherly coachable moment
  • Titling the workout “Snatch” may have been click bait to some of the more salacious minded recipients
  • Mark your calendars. Ivy League college acceptances are released tomorrow
  • Grip reads selected backblast passages to his wife during dinner
