So much more than a Fartlek

Awesome showing for this week’s “launch when you want” Fartlek.  Great job by all, getting a solid run in while social distancing and testing our collective technical ability to download and follow a route on your watch / device.  Pax gain valuable feedback from tech pros Blackbeard, Calypso, and Hacker in the process.  If they could only fix Rocket and mine eyesight (any our other “respectful” pax).  Below link has the route and our notable achievements (please add any that I missed to the comments):

  • Cousin Eddie – longest run in 16 years, pushed for his kids and Operation Sweet Tooth
  • Olive – For his lasting inspiration and  impact on us all, this comes out in the most unexpected ways, love the opportunity to call out Operation Sweet Tooth as well
  • My son Adam joined me, his first post – kid has an 18 year old and stuck at home kick, absolutely dusted me at the end
  • Rocket – Figured out to download the route without calling technical support (as far as I know) and achieved his 2nd fastest time on Cottsbrooke Isn't Flat
  • Jorel – PRs on the Birkdale Parkway (Rocket may need to pass on his new found technical knowledge to Jorel as the Birkdale Parkway was nowhere near our route
  • Mini Me – Proper callout that Calypso route was renamed to The Force route after last week’s Fartlek, Mini Me also got PR on Wynfield Creek (Hugh Torrence to Gilead)
  • Tagless – Racks up 2 flybys at various points during run (Rocket and Ultraman)
  • Crocs  – PR on The Glen Miro Fan Club and PR on Hugh Torance Climb
  • Craglegs – 2nd best estimated Half-Marathon effort last weekend
  • Ultraman – also put in a solid Half-Marathon effort last weekend along with Crablegs, Frogger and YHC
  • BillyBob – PR on Wynfield Hill, PR on Gilead to WF Clubhouse, and PR on Torrence Creek Greenway Bradford Hill Rd Start

Next week’s route will have 150 turns to see who has the superior navigation and/or technical device usage skills.

Stay safe!
