Taco Backblasts Are Still A Thing

Event Date

Aug 27, 2019

Ramrod's original #TacoTuesday backblast pronounced that #TacoTuesday gatherings must be backblasted, or they didn't happen.  We've gotten away from this recently, but they're still a thing.  See, you're reading one right now!

Qdoba was today's destination.  We've been there before, at least twice, but apparently only one backblast exists.  I do know we went a second time, because that was when Swing State introduced YHC to the nacho bowl.  While I certainly love tacos, the Qdoba nacho bowl provides more bang for the buck than the Qdoba tacos.  I've been on Team Qdoba Nacho Bowl ever since.

Ramrod was an HC today, as was Squiggy (who advised he would be coming in hot).  Roadie then HC'd shortly before noon after noticing the #pb.  As of 12:05 or so, the four of us were all chowing down:

  • Ramrod was first in line and went with the burrito bowl.
  • YHC arrived shortly thereafter and ordered the aforementioned nacho bowl with some "spicy" queso that was not at all spicy (but tasty nonetheless).
  • Roadie arrived third and was the only pax to properly order tacos for the occasion.  Unfortunately, the corn taco shells did not stand up against the protein juices and they all promptly fell apart, at which point Roadie obtained a fork and converted his tacos into a taco bowl.  Roadie would also later order some chips/salsa after eyeing YHC's nacho bowl.
  • Squiggy rolled in hot, as predicted, and went with burrito bowl, adding to it liberal amounts of the table hot sauce.

Roughly halfway through the meal, Swing State rolled in and joined the group at the table.  He had already had a work-related meal, but decided to roll in for some 2nd F.  Aye!

Topics of discussion included dad's camp, relay races, Grow Ruck, and Little Debbie snacks (prompted by the Twitter chain started by Swamp Thing this morning and still going as of this backblast).

Another #TacoTuesday in the books.

NEXT WEEK: a possible trip to a new location in Ramrod's neck of the woods.  Stay tuned.
