#TacoTuesday: Special post-BRR Saturday Edition

What better way to celebrate 209 miles of 1st and 2nd F – and YHC's 42nd bday – than by downing cold beer and crushing tacos at a special Saturday edition of #TacoTuesday in Asheville?

That's exactly what 13 Goatbuster pax did this past weekend, descending on White Duck Taco Shop post-BRR to see what Asheville had to offer in the taco department.

YHC knew that the pax would be hitting Buxton Hall for BBQ later that evening and, wanting to save some room for the 'cue, only ordered 2 tacos, which rightly caused Mort to raise an eyebrow.  In hindsight, YHC should have manned up and gone with the standard 3 taco order.  Dangit!

WDTS has quite a few taco offerings.  YHC took a pic of the menu, and it appears there were 17 different options on this particular day.  YHC opted for a "General Tso's Chicken" taco and a "Thai Peanut Chicken" taco, plus a Green Man ESB to wash it down.

The General Tso's, which came topped with broccoli slaw, fried wontons, and a tahini glaze, was delicious.  The Thai Chicken, which was topped with cabbage and a tropical salsa, was only so-so – too dense and mealy, not sauced enough.  Not sure why YHC went with two chicken tacos, knowing full well that the chicken tacos tend to be dry / less flavorful at many of our usual Tuesday spots.  Definitely should have gone with a Steak (which all the pax seemed to rave about), a Lamb Gyro, a Korean Beef Bulgogi, or a BBQ Carnitas taco.  Oh well.  Will have to plan a return trip.

Service was fast, and beer was delicious.  The company was second to none.  It was the perfect capper on a memorable weekend with some fantastic men.  10/10.
