20 strong (above plus Beer Husker, Bubbles, FNG Jeff and a few others) posted this morning for a non traditional Genghis Khan beatdown. I thought that we would have only 19, but at 5:29:30, P'Diddy emerged from the side of the library, kind of out of breath. He then informed me that earlier this morning, he had led himself through the "Lower 48," which entails 48 pullups, pushups and squats (and maybe burpees), all BEFORE my workout. Conflicting feelings of admiration, disgust, jealousy, exhaustion and apathy all gave way to creativity, as my esteemed mentor (see also GK virgin beatdown by P'Diddy, circa Dec, 2012) gave me some ideas that for once did not involve the track or senseless laps around Chambers.
Warm Up- normal stuff
Jog to Lake Norman Christian- pair off with Pain Partner
Round 1- 8 pullups, help your partner, jog to trailer, 8 burpees. Repeato (2 rounds total). Merkins (10X).
Round 2- 6 pullups, help your partner, jog to trailer, 25 mason twist/ LBC. Repeato 3 times (4 rounds total). Merkins (10X)
Round 3- 5 pullups, help your partner, jog to trailer, 10 burpees. Repeato (2 rounds total).
Trailer Circle Up. Duvall accused me of making it up at this point, which was certainly true. Squats, burpees, pushups (introducing, "the Neopolitan"- 10x regular, 10X wide grip and 10X diamond merkins without leaving the plank position- brutal), Mary, SSH, etc.
I then led the PAX back to the pullup bars from the trailer, but feared a brick to the back of the head as we moseyed. Once there, we each did 2 pullups, for a total of 52 (100 for P'Diddy total). We also ended up doing 50 burpees, 50 squats and way more than 50 pushups. In your face, PD! Of course it took the PAX 50 minutes to do what P'Diddy did in 10 minutes earlier, but we laughed more. Concluded with Mary of varying cadence, which never gets old.
COT- great job by all. Welcome back Beer Husker who is back from the Great White North for the week. Also welcome FNG Jeff, whom Crude EH'd into coming and then did not post himself; PAX was sure there was a name for this move. Jeff went through a somewhat boring litany of his CV, but Ranger informed us that Jeff has in fact serenaded his wife to Ed Sheeran music and that fact could be woven into his nickname. Jeff wondered who screwed him more, Crude or Ranger….hopefully he will return some day…….
