That’s A Cold Ass Burpee

15 studs emerged out of their warm beds on a Saturday morning to what most hoped would be an easy workout.  It was cold, and only got colder, much like the Q’s level of sympathy.  Here’s how it all went:

MOLESKIN:

  • I know I missed or have the wrong Pax in the names above.  YHC did not have a recording device with him during COT.  Please shout out in the comments if I missed you and I will have you added.
  • TClaps to everyone that posted this morning.  It was one of those rare mornings that actually got colder as the sun rose.  It was even better once we got our hands wet on the hill and then the wind started blowing.  I’m glad that Jedi finally regained feeling in his fingers after about 9 hours.
  • To the men that stuck around and did this bootcamp after rucking River Rat 10K in 90 mins, double TClaps.  That added to the suck.  A lot.  I was smoked for the rest of the day.
  • As I was looking around during the burpee ladder, I saw everyone pushing themselves beyond their limits and not quitting, which was very humbling.  Starting low and ending high creates an additional mental hurdle because when you are getting exhausted in the middle of a set, you know the next one is only going to be harder.  Being able to dig deep and push through in spite of that is a critical mental muscle that needs to be exercised, just as much as the rest of the muscles in our body.  Outstanding work.
  • The Force insisted on getting his 50 burpee quota for the day.  I told him I would try to work some in.  YHC delivered 110, enough for 2 days plus 20%.  Under-promise, over-deliver.  You’re welcome.
  • Thanks Turnpike for the opportunity to lead.  I’ll see you all again next time, if I’m ever invited back….

Aye,

BB
