6 fellas emerged from the gloom on a nice cool morning. All were ready for calories to be burned and fatigued to be earned.
It went down a little something like this.
Dandelion did not check his weather app before leaving for the AO. The overnight 40's would normally map into Dandelion's running pants, long sleeves, and gloves, but his short and t-shirt combo merely prompted the self assessment of, "well, I wore the wrong clothes." Fortunately, Anvil comes to the rescue and offers some gloves from his truck. I think he somehow weaved in a tone that said , "real men don't wear gloves to F3." And so, Dandelion started working on making callouses.

2 throws..
etc
*** Someone (I think Shirley) adds some excitement by suggesting that we should do burpees if the ball rolls off the sidewalk.
*** ok, I like it…fortunately, only 1 risk of falling off. Our throws ended up magically more towards the middle.
10 pull ups
grab a block and mosey back to the AO.
now mosey up to the top of the LBH for…
The CrossRoads
*** YHC's rental house is on a corner with a very busy 4-way stop. It is an interesting corner. Seems like a lot of people feel compelled to peel out and/or accelerate like they're in Cannonball Run. Hence the inspiration for The Crossroad.
Setup: At the top of LBH, cones and blocks are placed about 50 yards from the corner, quadraphelia's were mixed in.
Group splits into 4 groups. Groups assume the "at 4-way stop" locations on the corner. On YHC's call, everyone sprints through the intersection to the cones and does a thing Usually, nobody was impacted, but there were definitely different styles and methods of escaping the Crossroads.
Round 1 things: manmakers, block squat thrusters, Iron Cross, [something else]
Interlude: 50x SSH, pax also discusses making sure we do an AO to AO ruck this year. keep your ears open.
Round 2 things: hanging rows, Colt 45's, merkin block walk overs
Return blocks back
Return slam ball back from back playground to the parking lot, throwing ball backwards.
*** super impressive to see different backwards throwing techniques
*** pax whoops and hollers when some throw it 4 or 5 squares.
*** no slam balls rolled off the path
Return to the AO for Mary
flutter kicks, heels to heaven, maybe some others
reflection:Psalm 9, 1-2
"I will give thanks and praise the Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell aloud all Your wonders and marvelous deeds.
2
I will rejoice and exult in you;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High."
– A friend posted this lately, and it caught my attention
– love the 1st person future tense, these are things "I will" do.
– give thanks to Him, tell others of your wonders, rejoicing (having joy again), sing praises
moleskine:
– Anvil mentions how that night was a special night for the Catawba County reserves. Funny comments ensued.
(follow up, Anvil confirmed all went well)
– memory fading…why did I wait a few days???
Nice work by all.
It was an honor to lead
