4 men appeared out of the dark, cold, rainy early morning gloom to welcome Skipper back home.
After manly welcome home exchanges, (Dandelion is a hugger), we took off for about 5 miles through a steady light rain and perfect temps. It was an easy day on the Hanson Marathon calendar so Dandelion and Vortex prancercised took it slow and Fabio and Skipper led the way. Down to Governor's island, back through Covington East, clubhouse and back.
– Fabio missed Skipper, and was unusually talkative about how he befriended several lady friends during the Huntersville Half. Dude is smooth like Erik Estrada. Which by the way I think should have been his F3 name. "Ponch"
– Vortex was visibly old, angry and coarse this morning. Obviously reeling from losing the spotlight since I had returned back home. Cheer up Big V, it's the Friday FUN run!
– Dandelion was also a bit quiet today. I tried to cheer him up by telling stories of my journey to St. Louis and how running in high crime areas makes you a stronger runner.
