The Estate is 9!!


The Estate shovel flag was planted on Jan 5, 2013.  14 Pax launched the greatest AO in the history of F3 that day, and 15 Pax celebrated 9 years on Jan 1, 2022.  Here is roughly what went down on a warm Saturday in January:

0500:  The River Rat happened.

0600:  Excelsior also happened.

0655:  Callhan kindly invited everyone to a breakfast at his beautiful house on the lake, and then left to make preparations for the Pax.  Much appreciated Sir!

0700:

WARM-O-RAMA:  (Done in place in case of any late joiners)

  • SSH x 15 IC
  • IST x 15 IC
  • Aiken Legs  (Exicon definition below)
    • Done in succession with no rest — 15 [slow deep] Squats, 15 Box Jumps [we did jump squats], 15 Lunges [each leg], 15 Split Jacks [Allen Iversons] [15 each leg forward].
  • Mosey to the bottom-most soccer field

The "Kamikaze" Thing:

An Estate classic.  We tried our own spin on it and actually ran out of time for the last iteration, Cobains.  Here is how that went down:

  • Run across the first soccer field, do 15 Mericans OYO.  Run back.  Everyone elbow plank x 1 min.
  • Run across the first soccer field, do 15 Mericans OYO.  Bear crawl up the hill to the second field.  Perform a set of "Aiken Legs" (see above ^).  Run back down the hill.  Do 15 Mericans OYO.  Run back across the first field.  Everyone elbow plank x 1 min.
  • Run across the first soccer field, do 15 Mericans OYO.  Bear crawl up the hill to the second field.  Do 50 LBCs OYO.  Run across the 2nd soccer field, do 15 Mericans OYO.  Run back across the second field.  Perform a set of "Aiken Legs" (see above ^).  Run back down the first hill.  Do 15 Mericans OYO.  Run back across the first field.  Everyone elbow plank x 1 min.
  • Believe it was here ^ when Rodeo kindly led a mid workout mobility moment.
  • Run across the first soccer field, do 15 Mericans OYO.  Bear crawl up the hill to the second field.  Do 50 LBCs OYO.  Run across the 2nd soccer field, do 15 Mericans OYO.  Bear crawl up the hill to the 3rd soccer field.  Do low flutters x 50 OYO, each time your right leg goes up is 1 rep.  Run back down the 2nd hill.  Do 15 Mericans OYO.  Run back across the second field.  Perform a set of "Aiken Legs" (see above ^).  Run back down the first hill.  Do 15 Mericans OYO.  Run back across the first field.  Everyone elbow plank x 1 min.
  • Believe we did some light stretching here ^.
  • Run across the first soccer field, do 15 Mericans OYO.  Bear crawl up the hill to the second field.  Do 50 LBCs OYO.  Run across the 2nd soccer field, do 15 Mericans OYO.  Bear crawl up the hill to the 3rd soccer field.  Do low flutters x 50 OYO, each time your right leg goes up is 1 rep.  Run across the 3rd soccer field, do 15 CDD OYO.  Run back across the 3rd field.  Repeat low flutters x 50 OYO.  Run back down the 2nd hill.  Do 15 Mericans OYO.  Run back across the second field.  Perform a set of "Aiken Legs" (see above ^).  Run back down the first hill.  Do 15 Mericans OYO.  Run back across the first field.  Everyone elbow plank x 1 min.
  • Ran out of time and didn't complete the last set, Cobains.  My theory is the "Aiken Legs" ate up too much time!
  • Mosey to my car, recover, recover.

According to Strava, we covered 1.97 miles. 

Moleskin:

  1. There were many prayer requests.  While we are in good health, many of our friends and family are not.  Let us be grateful for what we have.
  2. Note The Count is not Kelly Robinson (he was running with Optimus), it was another The Count who joined us.  Good to meet you bud! 
  3. Mr Holland and Popcorn led a game of "Frisbee Burpees" which totally sounds fun (where is the sarcasm font?) then joined us after maybe 1 or 2 iterations of the Kamikaze.  Great work gents.
  4. Toxic wondered why Pit Stop didn't join them.  Why, you ask?  Because Pit Stop was wearing a head band and Toxic is a wise ***  lol. 
  5. Ultraman squeezed in his 50 Burpees for the day, nice work!  YHC promised a set of 50 Burpees in The Estate Twitter channel, but Cobains, I was too smoked at that point in the morning.
  6. Thank you Rodeo for leading the Excelsior ruck this morning, and for leading a much needed mid workout mobility moment. 
  7. Crocs with the strong #TripleDown!  Appreciate the company my dude. 
  8. Appreciate Burning Bush and Mayhem for having the 6 on the last iteration, and not just because the 6 was YHC!
  9. Turncoat was definitely there the whole time.  Any other variations of that story are just rumors. 
  10. Breakfast at Callahan's was fantastic.  It was great to catch up more with Toxic, Oyster, and Snake Eyes at the breakfast. 
  11. Speaking of Callahan's, some joked that KingFish now lives in Alaska but somehow joined us nonetheless for today's workout.  Great work today and hope to see you more in 2022.
