The Everything Bagel Workout

3 men emerged from the gloom, having expected to workout in the rain. Oh well, maybe next time. This workout came in 5 parts, with every type of exercise I've ever heard of…I call it the Everything Bagel. 

Wafflehouse took part 1 and warmed us up with a jog to Broadway and a round of his favorite warm-up exercises, including SSH, IST, and carrot pullers.

Cobra Kai took over with 1. martial arts bootcamp, followed by 2. Tai Chi, 3. Yoga, and ending with 4. stretching. 

Martial Arts Bootcamp:

  • SSH to 5, run to other side of the stage, 5 merkins, crab walk back…5 times. 
  • Karate kid lunges across the stage, Freddy Mercury to 15, reverse karate kid lunges back, SSH to 5
  • Bear to crab sequence clockwise, then counter clockwise with some dive-bomber pushups & Cobra in between. 5 rounds

Tai Chi – this was my first time with Tai Chi, so I have no idea what to call all the stuff we did. But, it made us purposeful with our breathing, deliberate in our movement, and the sweating from the first part of the workout never stopped.  

Yoga – plenty of runners pose, warrior 1 & 2, downward dog, upward dog, twisting lunge… accelerating with each new progression. 

Stretch – seated hamstring, butterfly, quads and others.

Moleskin:

  • speaking for myself, the bootcamp part of this workout got me out of breath and we never left the stage!
  • prayers were offered up for those suffering from illness
  • coffeeteria was held at the picnic tables with Moses home brewed java.
  • Cobra Kai said he had some lactic acid to loosen from his workouts this week, including IPC Friday and Moses' 94 burpee workout on Thursday at Fission.
