The General orders the Merican Bomb Cyclone!

17 Pax braved the brutal temps.  Depending whom you get your weather information from it was either 10 to 14F.  It did not matter what the actual temp was it was just plain cold.  5 Pax did the unthinkable “cold Standard” lead by Landline, Ninja, Soprano, Kidrock, and Metallica.  They got the mumble chatter started and continued through the workout. My goal was to keep the Pax warm and that included 2.5miles over the course of the workout.

Moleskin:

  • With “wicked” cold temps, we just had the tried-and-true Pax.  When I was posting the PB the night before, I thought surely no one would be up for the Standard.  I was incorrect.  The Palmetto Relay team “Kidrocksters” where out in force and running hot. (I think that is what their relay team is called)
  • Eeyore came in hot @ 5.31.  We are lucky his truck has brakes. Always great to see you brother.
  • We did excessive running to keep warm and was unusual for the General. However, I think the cold affected my ability to keep cadence. I was having a brain freeze. The Pax mumbled the counts and I had my hat over my ears. I really couldn’t hear anything. Unless I adjusted my hat. Often, I was not sure what number we were on. Once the Pax knew I could not keep it straight the counts started to get way off.
  • It all began when I was planning 50 SHH and I looked at Dry Rub and he was doing some type of a “wacky jack” or “air snowman” and it completely threw off YHC. We pulled up at 41. That’s wacky! It set the tone for the workout.
  • We ran one of Dredd’s favorites the DirtyMacDeuce. I am not sure how this routine got his name. It definitely perplexed Kidrock.
  • Special Sauce and Bagboy were mumbling incessantly.  Their humor continues to entertain the Pax. Bagboy impersonated Kidrock at Namerama.  Too funny!
  • Titan and Jazz Hands probably wore the most clothes.  I could only see Titan’s eyes.  Jazz Hands wore 7 shirts. He kind a looked like a tick. I was afraid if he felt down he would not have been able to get back up without assistance.
  • Roadie was covered in gear head to toe.  I finally asked “trick or treat”.  He was completely unrecognizable.
  • Dry Rub treated for coffee @ Madalyn’s.  We hung out with Jersey Boy.  Who knew he was not from Jersey. In fact, he had never been there. He is from Florida.
  • Prayers for Bagboys a co-worker mom with stage 4 cancer and friend whose daughter is pregnant at early age. Give them comfort and guidance.
  • Shout out to my BCC compadres for all their support, encouragement, and pushing me along
  • Thank you to Landline for running a great AO in 2017. He has set me up and I plan to continue the tradition in 2018. Next week 1/12, Titan has the Q.  The calendar is open for 1/19 and 1/26.
