The Murph, The Ice, The Story

Event Date

Panthers fans everywhere were still delighting in a resounding victory over the hapless Carson lead (not really) Cardinals from last night.  Cam dabbed, he supermaned, he gave the emphatic first down body sign, and numerous footballs were handed to waiting gap toothed youngsters who took part in one of the greatest accumulation of points in NFC championship history.  A mere 7.5 hours later, four men gathered over a crusty, slippery, crumbly parking lot, where walking was dangerous, and running was nearly, well….stupid.  Here is their story.

We KNEW we'd be audibling the Murph, just not sure exactly 'how' do it.  We deftly tiptoed to Fairview, then in came a rumbling Honeymoon in his pickup, circle back to get the six.  THEN, a simple .55 mile out and back to clock 1.1 miles.  Slippery, fall filled walk to our traditional playground.

10 pull ups, 20 Merkins, 30 Squats,

Repeato x 9.

Holes were 'punched' in the frozen icepack to gain grip for the Merkins, footholds jabbed for more secure squats.  Pull-ups–such a pure method of pain, were the least mitigated exercise today.

An icy walk back to 115, run north on 115, left on Fairview, and out about 1/4 mile and back, only 1.6 in total was measured, but it seemed MUCH greater than that, slippery as it was.

Mary IC 15 Cutter Boxes, 15 Box Cutters.

Recover, Recover.

Moleskine:

-We thanked our Lord for our safety (in these silly icy conditions), for the service of all military, such as Lt. Murphy, for whom this workout is named, and TickTock's cousin, who lost his life at a very young age in a MVA recently and of course his extended family in their grief of the loss.

-London rebounded well from a couple of falls, and others slipped, slided, and avoided the obvious perils of running a Murph in these conditions, but we did it!

-Honeymoon, TickTock, and LoveShack speculated that tomorrow will be a nother snow day for the children, I agree,

-THANKS LoveShack, for the chance to lead.

-Please take a Q, give the Masters a rest, and have as much fun as you can while putting your spin on a workout!!
