YHC needed two tweets for the pre-blast as he was quickly reminded by Canuck after the first tweet that Berean meets at Starbucks Birkdale and not the Total Wine parking lot. Anticipating a 70% chance of rain, YHC tweeted the audible to meet at Starbucks Birkdale, along with a #DBAP reference that we would get wet.  Goat was the first to arrive several minutes early in his 7 passenger Toyota Sequoia, while Hippie and Canuck each pulled in a few minutes later, each showing off their very different Ford Rangers.

Just before the start of the workout, one unnamed PAX, who is most comfortable in cotton and in this case, a beautiful bright orange Champion crewneck, requested to stay dry.  If you ever had a soggy cotton sweatshirt during a rainstorm, there is nothing more miserable so YHC gladly obliged.  TBH, YHC wanted to stay dry as well, and was especially enticed after the unnamed PAX offered YHC 1k just to stay dry.

A slow mosey from Starbucks, around Dick’s Sporting Goods was performed in order to look for stragglers who may have mistakenly showed up in the Total Wine vicinity.  After clearing the area, PAX headed back to pickup Hippie, who was getting prepped for the workout.

PAX performed what is called the parking lot boogie, and hit three relatively dry but slippery covered decks.  Various exercises were performed in each of the three decks including Perkins, Slow Squats, SSH’s, various mobility moments, praying mantis’, IST’s, multiple laps around the decks, people’s chair, air presses, and some MARY mixed in along the way.

Recover, Recover

NOTEABLE

  • Most importantly as we enter into this week, please remember to keep Scrappy close in your thoughts and prayers as his brother Jimmy passed away unexpectedly over the weekend.  PAX lifted Scrappy up in our CoT this AM and we share in his grief during this difficult time.
  • Look for details coming up for the Polar Bear CSAUP event on Saturday 2/11.
  •  The Berean 3rd F is always a great faith discussion over coffee.  Canuck shared some interesting and enlightening stories about his visit to Israel.
  • As you might expect with 3 men in their 50’s and a 60 something, some nostalgic memories of game shows, Voit volleyballs, Married with Children and other random bits of trivia were discussed.

As always, an honor and privilege to lead in the gloom and YHC especially grateful for 3 of Isotope’s finest who decided to participate in the Berean parking lot boogie this AM

Humbly in Christ,

Possum
