ReflectionThe second great commandment, to love others as yourself, might be more of an indictment on how we treat ourselves than how we treat others. We often treat others better than ourselves. We see them at their best and might assume that is how they always are. In fact, you brothers often seem near perfect to me. If you made a mistake, I would forgive you quickly and probably rally around you to help you repent and move forward. But I usually beat myself senseless for my mistakes. I hold on to them and refuse to let go.Jordan Peterson talks about this and how we can work to make ourselves better. How we need a goal (being like Christ) and how to get there incrementally. We must compare ourselves primarily to who we were yesterday and make small, incremental changes. You can listen to his 10 minute talk at https://youtu.be/5iQL1IfKTN4Let’s be kind to ourselves. Let’s use that to uplift others and to be a little better each day.God bless! Thanks for the chance to lead. (I am writing this late as we drove all day and my hamstrings are wrecked!)Anvil
