The Perfect Workout occurred today at Varsity. There was only Tweetsie and YHC to witness the perfection, but that only adds to it. Here's what went down:
0505: YHC took off for 1 slow lap of "The Bonesaw". Saw Etch and Labon and asked if they were attending the bootcamp. "Maybe" was the answer, but we didn't see them.
0530: Tweetsie and YHC explored the vast AO, stopped occionally for pain stations, and stayed together the entire time.
Recover, recover. We covered just over 3 miles according to my Strava.
Moleskin:
- YHC apologized to Tweetsie for turning this into a "running with pain stations" format. Tweetsie said "No worries, this is perfect". Agreed!
- Admitted to Tweetsie that I didn't have much of a concrete plan. However, did share a couple of Inspirations for what we did today. The first was a viral video I saw this morning. In it, an older man harrasses a woman for wearing a Puerto Rican shirt. You can probably find it on Twitter or Youtube or whatever. In the video you will also see an officer witnessing the entire thing, and deciding not to intervene. Obviously don't know any of the people in the video, and not trying to be critical, but the video angered me. People…we can do better. So could I have channeled that anger into some sort of brutal and angry workout? Well, the second piece of inspriation was the song playing on Sirius XM Channel 39 (Yes, Hair Nation) before I shut off my car. "Patience" by Guns and Roses. YHC took it as a sign. Today's workout, no matter how many PAX showed up, we were going to stay together. We were going to be deliberate with any exercises we did (Read: Slow). We were going to enjoy some 2nd F. I think we accomplished all that. It felt like the Perfect Workout for today.
Be good to people. Turnpike.
