On behalf of emcee THE Hall Monitor and a host of pax, including those listed above, Fenway, Professor, and potentially others (above list limited to 6), you are cordially invited to:

The 3rd Annual F3 LKN Roast a/k/a The Roast of Mortimer

—–

Your presence is respectfully requested at a gathering to both honor and shame one of F3 Lake Norman's finest, most selfless, and most perfectly coiffed #HIMs, Nathan "Mortimer" Stanford.

If you have met him, you already know that Mort embodies what this organization is all about.  He has demonstrated leadership among the pax, and has accepted personal responsibility for their goals.  He has served as Master Q and de facto Master Q of area run workouts; has organized countless group runs; has contribued countless hours of coaching and training advice; and has awoken in the wee hours and driven well out of his way on countless occasions simply to run with another pax who would have otherwise run alone.  He has coached and paced many of us throughout training and in races, and enabled us to achieve goals that we never thought possible.

It's time for the pax to give back.  It's time for the pax to formally recognize all the contributions Mort has made to our region.  And it's time for the pax to give him the grief he deserves for all those short shorts.

WHEN: Friday, May 25, 2018 from 7pm-11pm

WHERE: Wynfield Forest Clubhouse, 15722 Wynfield Creek Pkwy, Huntersville, NC 28078

Additional Details and Agenda TBA

** BYOB **

6/23 UPDATE – courtesy of F3 Ramrod, we have secured a 1/4 keg of Olde Meck Hornet's Nest as well as a partial 1/2 keg of Red Oak.  Please come help us empty these as we celebrate / roast Mort!

FUNDRAISING FOR MORT

As many of you know, Mortimer has run in two marathons this year, Myrtle Beach and Boston.  He's spent hours training and pacing other pax in these and other races, perhaps at the expense of his own training.

In 2018, Mort will be training for and running in two ultra marathons – a 100k race in Virginia and a 100 mile race in Vermont – in hopes of achieving some goals of his own.

And he needs the pax's help.

Mort has partnered with a charity, Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports, for his 100 mile race in Vermont (the VT 100), to which he hopes to be able to donate any funds he is able to raise by July 31, including those raised in connection with this event.  To that end, he has established a personal fundraising page – which he has not shared with the pax, or anyone (to my knowledge), until now.

If Mort has had an impact on you, helped you achieve your goals, or otherwise given of himself in some way to you….please consider returning the favor – and help him achieve his own goals – by contributing to his fundraising effort.  Any amount will be appreciated.  We will pass the hat at the Roast as well.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Roast.
