THE warm before the cold

6 appeared from the gloom looking for some miles at THE Denver Friday Fun Run before the deep freeze and Christmas festivities.  5 were wearing shorts and loving the mild weather.  YHC looked at the wrong day’s weather apparently, and was dressed for cooler weather…#palmslap

Without a designated Q, YHC pointed towards Governor’s Island and others followed.  Nice little run.  Wind down near Gov’s was starting to howl and reminded us that a cold front was coming soon.  Some slanty running and draft lines formed at times, but the crew rolled in at 5.02 miles.

  • Shake Weight really missed Skipper, saying lovely things like, “this wind would be great with Skipper, it would drown out his whining,” and other love notes.
  • Boucher beasted the run from the front; smiling and giggling most of the time with visions of gift cards dancing in his head
  • Dandelion ran with us, but was still feeling a lot of phlegm and junk, especially on his, “hangy down thing.”  I’m assuming he meant uvula, but I didn’t ask, being afraid of exactly which hangy down thing he meant.
  • Gecko wins the #wingman award, keeping tabs on Dandelion when he had to stop and clean off his hangy down thing
  • Strudel was looking forward to the family Christmas and Festivus events coming soon.

We did think about the Abramsthon boys quite a bit; mostly with words like, insane, craycray, and nuts….but really, we admire them, respect them, and wished them well.

Hope everyone survived Froze-megeddan and had a great Christmas!
