A tradition was born this morning. The First Friday of each month will be #OdysseyoftheMinds Team Challenge. We’ll break up into teams and do some type of scavenger hunt. Main roads will be avoided as much as possible. Teams will be selected randomly the morning of.
This morning 6 PAX were anxiously awaiting YHC at 5:10 sharp to embark the inaugural challenge. We broke up into 3 two-man teams: Dallas/Ducky, Kumquat/Turnpike and Burns/Tbone. The first clue was handed out and so the journey began.
Here are the clues:
#1 — He won a Super Bowl and a Cup. Find his shop, then go to the “van” to get the rest of the “story”.
So Burns and Tbone took off on a slightly different path but still ended up at Joe Gibbs Racing as planned. Little did YHC know, there was a van parked out in front of the main entrance. That caused some initial confusion, but eventually we all ended up at the corner of Vanstory and Reese.
#2 — Goldilocks slept in our beds and ate all of our porridge. Now we are just made of wood and stand along the greenway.
This is where things got a little interesting. Burns and Tbone chose to go down Vanstory, through whatever neighborhood, to the backside of Cedarfield, down Bradford to the greenway. The other teams went behind Earth Fare, through Melbourne to the greenway which is slightly shorter.
#3 — Hopefully you’ll find this clue better “defined” but don’t stay for coffee.
At this point, Ducky and Dallas started to separate themselves from the pack. KQ and TP were close behind. Burns had to stop and review his calculations to try to figure out how it took them so long to get to the greenway.
#4 — Head to the school named after a creek. Find the rock, but don’t paint it.
On the way to Torrence Creek, Tbone farted and quickly realized it would be best if he headed back to Starbucks. I have no idea what the rest of the group was up to because they were too far ahead.
#5 — With all your clues in your possession, head for the BUX to enjoy your coffee.
