Three’s Company and more fun at The Estate

16 1/2 PAX Met in the hot muggy Gloom for a supremely mediocre Q and even more mediocre Freesbee to follow.  It went a little something like this:

WARMORAMA: A mosey lap with butt kickers, high knees, quadraphelia, heading up to the upper parking lot (since something heavy tore up the lower parking lot).  Circled up for SSH, Towy Soldier, IST, arm circles, dwight shroots, windmills and a little stretching.  Once warm Pax split into groups of 3, no groups of 4….no groups of 3 with one extra (YHC clearly had everything under control). We did a little "Three's Company" (Dora with groups of 3).  PAX A started the excercise, PAX B started in Peoples Chair against the far wall, and PAX C ran from A to B, switching with B, who ran back to A etc.  Since no PAX brought any beanbags, we had no way to reduce the number of reps as YHC had planned so we proceeded to do 200 'Mericans, and 200 Squats.

Once all PAX finished we circled up.  The overall group did excercises while the PAX took turns (A, then B then C) running to the pull-up bars for 10 pullups and back.  Excercises included 'Mericans, WW2s, LBC's, Mountain Climbers and some mobility moments sprinkled in by request.

Once all groups finished their pullups, we moseyed over to the rock pile/track and circled up.  Quick circuit of Curls, Shoulder Press, Chest-Press+Low Flutter, WW2 situps, stretch.  Repeato.  Rocks back and head over to the field.

MARGARETE:  Mary's sister Margarete stood in for Mary today.  Margarete is a little more fun, likes to run around and gets quite competitive.  Today Margarete brought out a Frisbee and cones.  PAX split up into two teams, Black/Grey shirts vs. non Black/Grey shirts.  The matchup looked surprisingly even on paper, though actual frisbee skills soon spoiled the illusion.  Rules were simple, Ultimate Frisbee, team scored on did 1 burpee, scoring team did 1 'Merican.  Increase by 1 each point.  The Black/Grey shirt team took an early commanding lead, showing sure hands and crisp passes.  The Colorful Shirt team had the effort, but took plenty of risky shots that ended up biting them, and their hands of stone didn't help much.  But when it came down to "Next Point Wins", the Colorful Shirt team rose to the occasion, completing a few crisp passes and scoring the winning point!  All in all it was lots of fun, and more importantly no injuries!

MOLESKIN:

  • YHC definitely showed some Q rust, but was greatful for the PAX for putting up with a less than properly organized beatdown.
  • We learned that Carpet Bagger can throw a frisbee further than should be humanly possible.
  • We learned that as impressive as Carpet Bagger's distance was, Tantrum's 1/2" verticle jump was equally un-impressive!  Visually tall but functionally short.
  • We may need to have a "Frisbee Mechanics 101" before the next UF match to whip some PAX into shape.
  • YHC was greatful for the hard working PAX.
