6 Pax joined YHC on a 3 layer day (~42 degrees F) at Titan. The goal was to get a couple of miles and stretch as we prepare for the Tuna 200 relay this upcoming weekend. Here is roughly what went down:
0532: Hotbox's first post at Titan's new location? He texted "Coming in Hot" and we saw him drive from one of the southern parking areas. Cobains, YHC could've been more specific in the Preblast. We were off.
WARM-O-RAMA:
- Mosey about half a mile to the Latta Clubhouse (where Titan launched for about a year before Vandelay moved it back to Hopewell High). Jaws opened the gate and turned the lights on for us.
- Disclaimer given, but perhaps drowned out by Frogger's mumble chatter?
- IST x 10 IC
- Soybean Farmers, Tennessee style, x 10 IC
- Mericans x 10 IC, Hold Elbow Plank x 45 seconds
- Calf raises x 10 each leg OYO
The Titan Taper Thing:
Mosey towards Mortimer Hill. Complaints heard…so we didn't run up it. Instead we ran to the boat dock area. This time Tantrum turned on the lights for us for:
- Dips x 10 IC
- Slow Deep Squats x 10 IC
- Glute bridge x 1 minute
- Calf raises x 10 each leg OYO
Mosey back the long way to Hopewell High. We had plenty of time for:
Mary / Stretching:
- Hamstring stretch
- Quad stretch L / R
- Front leaning rest into calf stretches L / R
- Pigeon L / R
- Cobbler / Groin stretch
- Legs out in front stretch
- Low flutters x 15 IC
- Knees to chest stretch
- Maybe there was another glute bridge in there?
Recover, recover. According to Strava, we covered 2.49 miles.
Moleskin:
- We're ready for the Tuna relay! Still, we somewhat selfishly prayed for our own safety this weekend.
- Frogger was kind enough to run a couple of extra miles with YHC on Saturday, after we ratted with Gambini. It will be awesome to lace them up in a race with Gambini for the first time. Frogger and YHC are CSAUP brothers going back to 2017.
- Cobains to leave Jaws hanging on his Sunday long run, thankfully Crab Legs was there to keep him company. Will be my second relay in a row with Jaws this week, and once we get our "Streaker" prizes all these other Mo-FoS will have no choice but to buy our adult beverages all weekend. Sorry, thems the rules!
- Can't believe it will be my first relay with Tantrum. Despite having run hundreds of miles together over the years, YHC still can't convince him to buy Vanilla Coke for the Tuna relay. I thought we were bros, bro?
- Hotbox, another CSAUP rookie, is looking strong! Not sure how we got lucky enough to have not one but two first timers, but it is going to be awesome.
- Thank you Vandelay for letting me lead today. Strong work today bud. YHC urges everyone present today to grab a Q on the website calendar. The Pax have spoken and "Running with Pain Stations" seems to be the preference for this great AO.
Appreciate you gents! Stay safe and healthy this week, and let's go get this.
