A few months ago, YHC rolled out of bed on a Saturday morning and decided to visit Mighty Jungle for a nice weekend kickoff. MQ Duvall and I lamented the challenge of getting new Qs for our respective AOs, at which point I happily agreed to get on the Mighty Jungle calendar. While I’m still waiting for him to return the favor (ahem), we had a great time this past weekend exploring all that St. Mark’s has to offer. Here’s what went down:
WARM-O-RAMA:
- SST x 50 IC
- Note: at SST 20, Duvall immediately regretted EHing me to sign up
- Imperial Storm Trooper x 15 IC
- Toy Soldier x 15 IC
- Slippery Dip Can x 15 IC
- Side Schrutte x 15 IC
- Slow Windmill x 10 IC
- Arm Circles
THE THANG:
I “borrowed” this format from a Gnarly Goat workout he led at The Mighty Oak. Knowing this AO has bricks, blocks, and logs, the Pax split into groups of 2 (each with a log), 2 (each with a block), 2 (each with two bricks), and 1 (the runner).
For each round, the group would come up with token-appropriate exercises, and do them until the running group completes a lap, at which point everyone rotates. We successfully did five rounds and a mile of running:
- Round 1
- Logs: Bent Over Row
- Blocks: Curls
- Bricks: Side Raises
- Round 2
- Logs: Overhead Press
- Blocks: Lawnmowers
- Bricks: Burpees Over Blocks
- Round 3
- Logs: Chest Press
- Blocks: Squats
- Bricks: Tricep Kickbacks
- Round 4
- Logs: Skull Crushers
- Blocks: Calf Raises
- Bricks: Wrist Flexes
- Round 5
- Logs: Reverse Lunge
- Blocks: WWII Sit-up w/ Block
- Bricks: Bent Over Fly
That was fun! Tokens back, run to school for People’s Chair (complete with Air Press, Land the Plane, and some Calf Raises).
MARY:
- Low Flutter x 20 IC
- LBC x 30 IC
- Touch Dem Heels x 30 IC
- Push Throughs x 30 IC
- Suzanne Somers Right x 15 IC
- Double Toe Tap Right x 10 IC
- Suzanne Somers Left x 15 IC
- Double Toe Tap left x 10 IC
- Heels to Heaven x 15 IC
- Isometric Crunch x 30 Seconds
Recover, recover.
