Tribute to Hawkeye

A handful of the boys fought the urge of the fartsack, reminded themselves black ice matters, defrosted their kettlebells and made a bee-line to the Salty Caper for a bit of KB fun.  Upon arrival and surveying the barren tundra and harsh landscape YHC decided to limit our AO to a safe stretch of sidewalk saltier than deepend's demeanor ordering a beer.  On a side note Lear showed after his one round title fight with the stairs and handrail at Stumpy Creek was declaed a draw.  He looked a bit like Rocky after his bout with Apollo Creed, a badge he wore proudly while the rest of us will need some ambien to sleep tonight.

Today's workout would be a tribute to Hawkeye, an honorary member of our Racecity pax and father to our beloved brother Crack.  Hawkeye passed away unexpectedly Saturday.  Our prayers and sympathies to Crack and his family…but let's also remember – we had the opportunity to meet a great guy and a father beaming with pride for his son.  Hawkeye served our country and made it clear at coffeeteria he loved it.  Hawkeye retained bragging rights as our unofficial patriarch reminding Lear each time he saw him that he was a month older (both 71 years old).  Our lives won't be measured by years but by our efforts to leave this place a little better than we found it and to love on, lift up, build, shape and sharpen those around us – whether a son, friend, neighbor or stranger.  With that in mind, and with Crack's character as a shining example, God no doubt welcomed Hawkeye with "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
