Trying to Tame the Wilderness


Mostly the usual suspects (+ Kosar) out in the gloom this morning at The Wilderness. 10 Pax total. Perfect. 

Relatively standard warm up, except Soprano got a bit too excited on the karaoke and switched early. In fairness, he may have glanced Toxic behind him and decided to take precautionary measures.

Mosey to the playground for 3x 10 pullups, 20 decline merkins, 20 incline merkins, and 25 dips.

Break into two teams for a Washington Football Team Run toward the circle and Travolta Hill. POS along the way.

Team 1 vs Team 2. Last team to arrive at destination does 5 additional burpees than the winner. 

First Pearl –  15-10 burpees depending if you won or not, then Freddie Mercury (apparently this is a thing at The Wilderness), then WILD (WWIIs, Dot the i, LBCs, and Deep Squats ) all in cadence.

  • YHC was gently reminded by Toxic that your legs are supposed to stay together when dotting the "i"

Second Pearl – 15-10 burpees at the circle, then Team 1 around the circle while Team 2 AMRAP monkey humpers. Flapjack. Then Repeato.

Mosey to top of Travolta Hill

Team 1 Run to basketball hoop and quadraphilia back. Team 2 hold plank until Team 1 reaches the hoop, then hold Bridge until Team 1 gets back. Flapjack.

Mosey back to Rock Pile for a standard set of rock work

Line up again for WFT run / POS

Third Pearl –  5-0 burpees depending if you won or not. One team cheated. But they still won. 

Fourth Pearl – The other team cheated and won, but got nothing for it as there were no burpees. BUT find a bench for 20 step ups and some Bulgarian** split squats IC

**There was confusion between Hungarian split squats and Bulgarian split squats. Hungarians only make it to 10 before quitting, while Bulgarians continue until the Q says recover. There were multiple Hungarians in the group today..
