The original Q for this week’s #TheMightyOak beatdown – Eeyore – had to go out of town last minute for work, so he was pushed back to next week, and The Turn Brothers stepped in to take the Q today.

Turnpike preblasted that today’s workout would test the pax knowledge of the Turn Brothers’ musical tastes.  Penalties would be given for wrong answers (which took the form of 10 ‘mericans OYO per wrong answer, completed immediately).

0500: Turn Brothers completed a 2 mile slowsy #Standard.

0530: 5 total pax posted to the AO, ready to rock.

Disclaimer given.  Mosey around the parking lot to the usual warmup spot for Warm-O-Rama (led by Turncoat):

• SSH x 20 IC
• Soybean Farmer x 10 IC
• IST x 10 IC
• Toy Soldier x 10 IC
• Mountain Climber x 20 IC

Mosey around (with Smokey hauling a sandbag) to the back of Grand Oak for the THANG (led by Turnpike):

Pax take turns carrying the sandbag to the end of the bus lot and back while other pax partner up for multiple rounds of various exercises:

• Leg Throwdowns
• People’s Chair
• Elbow Plank + Squats

Ditch the sandbag and partner up for partner wheelbarrows halfway through bus lot, with one pax lunge walking same distance.

Grab blocks and head back to bus lot for various block exercises (all 12 reps IC):

• Squat to Press
• Curl
• Skullcrusher
• Bent Over Row
• Lawnmower

Leave blocks and head to playground.  Partner up for partner squat assisted pullups, followed by OYO flex holds from pullup bars.  Return to blocks for additional block exercises, including Overhead Press.

Turnpike yields to Turncoat.  Pax return blocks while Turncoat carries sandbag to benches:

• Dip x 15 IC
• Incline Merican x 10 IC (pax avoided Decline Merican here by correctly guessing song that came on)

Mosey back to cars for Mary (led by Turncoat):

• Captain Thor (WWII + 4-count American Hammer…. started with 1 and went up to 7)
• Low Flutter x 20 IC
• Calf Raises OYO (15 toes in, 15 straight, 15 toes out)
• Low Dolly x 15 IC
• LBC x 20 IC

Moleskin:

• Thanks to the pax for posting and playing along with our music theme.  Pax did well and avoided more than half of the potential ‘merican penalties, despite the Turn Brothers playlists being all over the place, and even trolling the pax by each selecting Weezer tunes, and Turncoat picking one hair band tune despite Turnpike being a well-known fan of that category.  Hey, we had to throw a few curveballs at the pax to ensure there would be at least a few penalty ‘mericans.
• As Weezer was playing, Turncoat noted that Rivers Cuomo was at college campus taking classes at same time as he was, and working on Pinkerton album.  Lambeau then brought up a conspiracy theory positing that Rivers = Kurt Cobain.  I will have to read up on that one!
• Partner squat-assisted pullups were a fan favorite, kind of like prisoner squats but with pax doing pullups.  Pillager remarked “that was interesting” and Smokey politely declined Turnpike offer to take a turn (since he was partnerless).  Turnpike admitted “they can’t all be winners.”
• We missed some of the TMO regulars this week – Overdose, Roadie, Toby, Mulligan, etc.  Hopefully will all be back for Eeyore beatdown next week.
