Turning Back Time and Merkins


Gloomy Thursday December morning at The Wilderness.  11 of NoCo's Finest show up to burn off some of the Holiday Cheer from last week's Christmas party and prepare for more Holdiay Festivities to come. 

 

Warm-Up

Enough Warm-up, then on to

 

The Thang:

 

Mosey over past the playground on to the street

Form of, two lines for:

Indian Run thru Queens Corner to the Rock Pile

Pick a non traveling rock, size doesn't matter, we'll share

10x low curl

10x overhead press

Move 2 rocks to the left

10x back row

Move 1 rock to the left (who picked that boulder?)

10x hi curl 

2 to the left

10x skull crusher

1 to the left

10x full curl

Put Rock back, just when we start to have fun, so will plan on more rock work next time

Over to circle 

 

Time to… Turn Back Time, yes, Cher is in your head now too…

12 burpees.  BS calls started here and increased exponentially.  They make me laugh, as I care about their fitness. 

Run CounterClockWise "15 hours" to 9 o'clock position, then repeat for:

9 burpees

Run CCW to 6

6 burpees 

Run CCW to 3

3 Burpees

Run around back to 12.  

I heard 9 Lives say something about wanting LBCs, so repeato the "Turn Back Time" pain clock with LBCs. 

After done with the repeato, knock out 10x Merkins, just because the Burpees weren't enough. 

Run to queens corner, pick a curb

Apollo creed x10

Curb Merkins, 10x each side, because the Merkins at the top of the hill weren't enough… 

Run south out of Queens corner to the hill 

Quadraphilia up an circle up

Merkin time bomb from 5 (because… not enough Merkins…)

Back to BB court

WW2 (odd count here, couldn't get timing right, but I think we all got 10 done in the chatter)

Then some LBCs, Freddie Mercurys, Mountain Climbers, and then..

To give everybody a chance to play, went one time around the circle for 10 more excercises, though Tantrum's could count as two (10x Pretzels each side). Then others including slow Merkins, V-ups, heel touch, Diamond Merkins (a REAL crowd pleaser!, thanks Olaf!), J Lo, Shoulder Touch Merkins, Hand release Merkins, (because… "Merica!), etc. 

Toxic's slow Merkins were fun, I could barelly push myself off the ground at this point so about 3/4's of the way through the last one:

Lots of mumble chatter this morning and it definitely made things fun.  In my "out of breath" muttering I called for a couple of "Sexercise" instead of "Next Excercise".  Funny that some of those mumbling about "too many 'merkins", which is like saying "girl too pretty" or "car too fast", were the same calling for 'merkins during the Mary.  Because they care about our fitness too! 

 

Always fun at the Wilderness.  Thanks for The Force for allowing me the chance to lead these fine men this morning.  This was my first Wilderness Q and third (I AM THIRD) Q overall, so I'll get better.  If you haven't Q'ed yet, man up!  It will be fun!
