A last-minute change on the eve of Veterans Day 2020 moved Stretch Armstrong from its normal location at Oakhurst Pavillion over the Huntersville Veterans Park for a Veterans Day convergence. YHC, Die Hard, Ultraman and Toxic gathered under the stage at the park while Goat's Hollywood crew and Croc's Mad Sci crew converged at the DPK parking deck.
During Stretch, Goat, Crocs, Qbert, Cherry Bomb, 9 Lives, Amen, Blackbeard, Titan, Pavarati, Rooney, Longhorn, Nacho and about 20 other PAX did fly-by's up and down the sidewalk (in the rain) while we Four Horsemen did a classic rock-fueled Stretch under the stage cover. Hey, at least it is still outside.
The focus of today was muscle recovery. We concentrated on the 5 best yoga poses for muscle recovery, as stated on the interwebs so it must be true, here: https://naturalforce.com/blogs/nutrition/yoga-poses-speed-muscle-recovery
High impact/intensity workouts are great but don't forget to give your body a chance to recover, especially if you are like Ultraman and post 5-7 times a week, every week. (not exaggerating)
We also threw out some Veterans Day trivia, such as why 11/11? Is there an apostrophe or not? Read more about it here: https://www.defense.gov/Explore/Features/story/Article/1675470/5-facts-to-know-about-veterans-day/
Around the 0600 mark, Goat, Crocs, and PAX came by to have a mobility moment. Good times with pigeons and toe touching was had by all. Some touched their own toes, some touched others… TWSS
Thanks to Omaha for the chance to lead and explore this possible alternate Stretch location. It is awfully close to Main Street Coffee, just beware you may roll in behind someone who just put in a $92 order, so your serving time may vary.
Happy Veterans Day to all that have served, past and present. *merica*
