We ran like Forrest

A 4 man ragtag crew of F3 ludamites braved the gloom at Ludicrous Speed.

YHC was perplexed by the weather forecast. F3’s 3rd core principle is “workouts shall be held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold.”  Alas, Forrest once said, Life is like a box of chocolates—you never know what you’re gonna get. What we got was a sky that was basically having a midlife crisis—spitting rain one minute, howling with wind gusts the next.

[Toby to Insert dramatic effect here]

It started raining, and it didn’t quit. Every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin’ rain…and big ol’ fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath.

As we gathered for launch, YHC wanted to do laps with pain stations after each. However, some wanted to just do laps while others wanted to only ruck. Therefore, it was every Pax for himself.

Then, off we went, with Calypso charging ahead like a caffeinated squirrel, hollering,, Run, TBone, run! Which, he didn’t because he chose to only ruck. TBone wasn’t rattled though.

And for no particular reason, we decided to go for a little run. So we ran to the end of the parking lot. And when we got there, we thought maybe we’d run a lap around the track. And when we did that, we thought maybe we should just run more. And, after that, we thought since we run that far, maybe we’d just run across Mecklenburg County, then the great state of North Carolina. Well, we didn’t, but for no particular reason, we just kept on going. And after each lap, we figured, since we’d gone this far, we might as well just keep right on going.

Calypso and Landshark, the lazy geniuses who’d opted for just laps, moseyed by snickering at Toby’s pain stations. Stupid is as stupid does they said.

At some point, Landshark had an emergency he needed to take care of, but all the doors he sought were locked. We’ve all been there at some point. However, somehow he kept going.

After we had run for 45 minutes, or 2,700 seconds, we headed back to base camp. The Pax said, Quiet, quiet! He’s gonna say something!. For which YHC responded, I’m pretty tired… and need to go home now, so  Recover, Recover. However, all Pax decided to go to Coffeeteria instead. That’s all I have to say about that.

Great job today gents!
