UPDATE (1/8/25): we are postponing this trip due to the winter weather that came this past weekend and is expected to come this coming weekend.  We will most likely plan another trip for sometime in February and let everyone know. 

Toby and I (Drebin) are planning to go back up to the mountains to continue our volunteer efforts.  We are planning on going to Burnsville – Yancey County – one of the hardest hit areas of the mountains (30 inches of rain fell in the southeastern portion).

I have a contact in Burnsville who I went to high school with, and she is operating a supply hub there with a lot of local connections (Facebook and Rebuilding Hollers).  Like in every situation in the mountains, we won’t know what we are doing until the week of – it could be anything from cleaning homes/yards, removing debris/mud, sorting supplies, cooking, etc. so please be open to what’s needed. 

We are considering getting a cabin and going up maybe Friday night through Sunday.  Anyone could join for the whole weekend, just a day or whatever you are willing to do.

With all of this, I need to get an idea of how many will be able to join us so they can know where to put us – please add your name to this list whether you are HC or SC.
