What Goes Down….

Event Date

Feb 20, 2021

Five fellas made it out to the Quarry Hood based on the pre-blast message of “What goes down, must come up.” There was a lot of pre-workout speculation as to just what may be in store. Could it have something to do with lifting bricks/cinders, something to do with hills, a burpee fest and/or projectile vomiting?  Read further to see.

Warm-o-Rama

Run a few clocks and do SSH, TS, Windmill and Carrot pullers

The Thang

Round one

Go to the top of the ‘Sac hill for some ladder 8’s. Do one rep of first exercise at fire hydrant, run approximately 25 yards down the hill to do seven reps of next exercise so the total reps equal eight. Then 2/6, 3/5, repeat, repeato, etc. etc. It’s just like a ladder but slightly different

We did three rounds as follows:

  • Mercans / Squats – with regular running back up hill

  • CDD / LBC – with backwards run back up hill

  • Burpee / Box Cutter – with alternating karaoka shuffle back up hill

Round two

Go to bottom of the ‘Sac hill.  Run 2 mailboxes (20 yards) up the hill for 10 reps of the first exercise, then run back to bottom for another 10 reps of the same exercise. Second exercise goes up 3 mailboxes (30 yards) and back, third goes up 4 mailboxes, fourth goes up 5 mailboxes and back and the last one goes all the way to the top of the mountain and back.

Moleskine

  • Although iphone temps said 29 degrees, it did not feel that cold at launch time. So said the guy who drove over there in a warm car, forgoing the outside run option to the launch point

  • I dreamed a dream that there were approximately 100 vaccine doses going to waste. Not sure how best to code this in order to bill these hours

  • If I order a $16 cocktail with various infusions and smoke, I expect to get one hellacious buzz from it

  • Noting funnier than seeing a Suburban and a Mini-Van drag race at a stop light in front of WalMart light on way over. It’s also a great way to check the minivan tire tread life between recommended service dates

  • Once Planet Fitness opens up in the old BiLo space, Q is done with F3. Primarily due to the scenery. No offense

  • Schwinn made a strong showing despite being hungover. #respect

  • Prayers lifted up for Mojito’s mom on her hip recovery, and praises for honoring the memory of Isaac Friday

  • Runners were escorted out to the tune of “Babalu” by Desi Arnez Jr. This song was intended to honor Mojitos heritage, but may have also been very offensive, especially with the driver proceeding to yell “Babalu!” at top of lungs on Rozelles Ferry Road. Good times indeed.

  • So much fun – Great effort gents!
