Wilderness PAX complete the Circle of Life

13 Men decided that the early (earlier than most days) rise was worth their time this morning. Many apparently are not familiar with A Tribe Called Quest, however, all of them paid respect to PhifeDawg by completeing the Circle of Life. Here is how it went down. All exercise IC unless noted.

The WARM-O-RAMA

Mosey to basketball court. SSH x 25, Mountain Climber x 10, 'Merican x 10, Cotton Picker x 10, Toy Soldier x 10, Windmill x 10

The THANG

Mosey up to first traffic circle (a lot of running apparently) on Hugh Macaulay to embark on Circle of Life.

LBCs x 15, Bear Crawl 1/4 of Circle, Mason Twist x 15, Lunge Walk 1/4 of circle, Slow Squat x 15, Sprint around 1-1/4 Circle, Burpee x 10oyo, Forward CrabWalk 1/4 Circle, Hand Release 'Merican x 10.

Given PAX still had some life we dropped the REPEATO

Upon completion of round 2 we threw our last sign up respect up to Phife and we "kicked it". Low Flutter x 25

Slow mosey to the rock pile. We switched up rock placement in between each exercise.

Full Curl x 15, Skull Crusher x 15, Shoulder Press x 15, Upright Row x 15, Full Curl x 15

Mosey back to clubhouse tree and circle up.

The MARY

Toxic led Slow 'Merican x 10 on his count (bad decision by YHC!!!)

Tagless led the W x 15

Blackbeard led the Dying Cockroach x 16 (?)

Jock Strap led the Homer to Marge (the cadence or lack there of was comical)

SnakeEyes brought us home with the… Shoulder Touch 'Merican x 15

The MOLESKINE

Awesome work by the PAX this morning. There were some BS calls and Mumblechatter throughout due to running, however, none greater than when Toxic took the Slow 'Merican lead or when he dropped a bomb during CoL.

Tagless gets faster and faster each time I see him. Have to assume he is on someone's BRR team by now… Stray, I'm not saying, I'm just saying. EHhooks!

Force and Megaphone (WD), both battling sickness, pushed through to the end. Strong work men!

Awesome to see Madden24 (WB) join us on his Spring Break. There aren't many young men willing to do what you did this morning. Must have an awesome Mom, huh Blackbeard???

GangGreen advised Capone and me that we took 3,397 steps at coffee this morning. I do believe that crushed his quota/goal by approximately 3,395 steps. Solid work my man!

Happy to see Olaf is keeping the neighborhood under control. Based on his physical ability, I'm not sure Wilderness will ever see any unruly riffraff. Keep it up. Respect!

In all seriousness, PhifeDawg was a big part of aTCQ and instrumental in bringing a new style to hip-hop. Much like how each morning we try to bring a new style of leading to the Men in our communities. He passed away just recently at the young age of 45 from complications due to diabetes. Diabetes is not always treatable but there are many proven cases where consistent exercise and aerobic activity have reversed the complications of diabetes. Phife was not one for exercise, but possibly if he had someone in his life pushing him he may still be around or at least lived a healthier life. It is up to us to reach out to those that need our push the most. Be that difference. #ISI

Thanks, The Force, for the opportunity to lead and to all you Men for pushing me daily!
