Yabba Dabba Doo: 6 PAX Stormed Bedrock (FKA Bailey Road Park)

Event Date

Dec 31, 2022

AO

YHC, although distracted by the vintage 1966 red Ford Mustang white top convertible pulling in minutes before launch time, was super excited to see our very own Kid Rock exit the classic antique and answer the call for adult recess at Bailey Road Park. BagBoy, Canuck, Moses and Waffle House were already gathering and chirping prior to our 7AM launch time.

After a brief disclaimer, PAX moseyed over to broadway for a proper warm-a-rama including a 50% Soprano inspired SSH IC x 50.

  • Mosey over to rock pile where curls, bent over rows, shoulder presses and skull crushers were performed.
  • Mosey around the track and stopping at raised wall for incline and decline merkins and air squats.
  • Mosey around the track to far side steps, PAX performed multiple stairs and ended in calf raises
  • Mosey over to Bailey Middle School ending at wall for People’s Chair and Air Presses
  • Mosey around parking lot, weaving in and out of poles and ending with Marvin Hagler’s and Curb Merkins
  • Mosey over to Wolf Pack Park with pull ups and air squats.
  • Mosey down K2 ending at bottom for WWII’s
  • Mosey up Bubba to bottom of hill for a descending ladder (quadrophelia up and merkins X 10 at top, descending by 1)
  • Mosey long way around to starting point, stopping at Kid Rock’s sweet 66 Mustang, performing Monkey Humpers around said car.
  • Mosey to far side of parking lot for extra distance and ending with MARY.
  • Overall 2.1 Strava verified miles were covered.

Notable

  • Thanks to Waffle House for suggesting the need for a new name for the 11 year long standing Bailey Road Park AO.  There were 4 names in the running: 1) BuRP 2) Maverick 3) The Bronco 4) Bedrock.
  • After receiving input from the Lake Norman F3 Founding Father, Moses, it was determined that the Bailey Road Park AO on this last day of 2022 will now be known as BEDROCK!
  • Some context to choosing Bedrock as the new name: Bedrock aka cornerstone, is the first stone laid in the masonry of a building.  Bailey Road Park AO was the cornerstone of Isotope/LKN from which other regions around LKN were built.
  • Moses ended our CoT in prayer followed by a great coffeeteria gathering by all 6 PAX in attendance.

It’s an honor and privilege to lead each and every PAX who continue to show up in the gloom and YHC is especially excited to see what 2023 holds for our newly named AO BEDROCK!
