Zamperini Dignity Walk

6…no wait…7 men gathered for a full 60-minute weekend workout at The Mighty Jungle. We started with…

2 warm-up laps including some form walks; this escalated into a COP-burpee ladder from 1 to 5 with other exercises mixed in, including at least the following: calf raises, arm circles, ‘mericans, SSH, & IST. Halfway through the COP, Shaken Not Stirred came in on 2 wheels, having lost his way from just 2 miles away; no,  we couldn’t think of a good excuse for him, but he was warmly welcomed.

Dora 1:

  • Partner 1 – carry one cinderblock right hand and switch to left halfway (alternative, run around short block or lunge walk)
  • Partner 2 – straight leg lifts on bar; team goal was 50 leg lifts

Dora 2:

  • Partner 1 – Low defensive side shuffle, switch leading leg half way
  • Partner 2 – Team goal 75 pull-ups or chin-ups

Dora 3:

  • Partner 1 – team goal 100 shoulder touch ‘mericans
  • Partner 2 – Zamporini walk

Mobility moment

BLMFers to 10, single count

MWAR – each person did 6 distinct ab exercises and worked the shoulders 1 more time with the battle rope

Moleskin:

  1. the 3rd round of Dora was a crowd-pleaser (translation, shoulder smoker)
  2. the BLMFers tribute to Canuck elicited some muscle cramping around the circle from those not already used to this stupidity
  3. Blackbeard & Omaha joined for COT after a long, long “mall walk”.
  4. Louis Zamperini’s Pacific Ocean raft lesson – man doesn’t only need food, water, and shelter to survive, but also dignity.
  5. thanks for the EH, Duvall! and, thanks to y’all for letting me lead you for 60 minutes.
  6. strong turnout for both coffee at Defined and landscaping at Caterpillar Ministries
