A dozen PAX started this special Martin Luther King holiday off with an OTB beatdown at Smithville Park. A brief warm-a-rama and disclaimer was followed by a mosey over to Saed’s where PAX would perform rounds of exercises such as donkey kicks, mountain climbers and a touch of mobility. Mosey over to the Zion Methodist church where PAX would perform People’s Chair, Calf Raises and pectoral stretches (something YHC is trying to imcorporate more) in preparation for a healthy dosage of merkins later in the workout. YHC noticed a little too much mumblechatter, so PAX moseyed over to the lacrosse field where 4 rounds of wind sprints would be performed across the length of the field. (Inspired by Airstream’s mention in a previous workout to put more focus on fast twitch muscles – hopefully we can do more of these in future workouts) PAX would then perform 11’s on the width of the field with an ascending ladder of WWII’s followed by a descending ladder of dips on the bleachers at the opposite side of the field. PAX would then mosey over to the benches just beyond the restrooms for incline and decline merkins. A full lap around the entire baseball fields would wrap up the beatdown but not until 2 minutes of MARY was completed.

Awesome seeing some of the PAX like Mulligan, Olive and Metallica that YHC doesn’t often cross paths with as we all hit different AO’s. Thank you Greyhound for the audible to converge MMM so we could all celebrate in this special MLK workout. Solid work by everyone. Greyhound and Cally setting a great example of coming out consistently even as they continue to recover from injuries!

Thank you Cally for the truly inspiring prayer and reminding us about MLK’s message of unity, something we all have an opportunity to do as we enter this 2024 election year

Shoutouts to Canuck, AirStream, and Bagboy for taking on the Mt. Afton Challenge on Saturday which brings awareness to suicide. Airstream crushed an impressive 12.75 miles of running while Bagboy and Canuck rucked/walked a solid 7 miles each – great work men!

YHC a little star-struck after a brief encounter and discussion with Coach Joe Gibbs, selfie included.

Honored and inspired by each of the PAX who decided to start the day off together at Smithville Park!
