MEMORIALSKIN:

There are normal mornings in March and then there are mornings in March spent with Speed for Need and Purple Heart Homes. The partnership is so natural and YHC is so thankful that Chap, Layn, Fenway, Frazier and the crew at PHH continue to partner with Speed for Need.

It was AWESOME to see Richard again and to help kick off the SFN race season. Last time we spent time with Richard was on 7/4 at the RWB 7.4 Miler. Then Auto stepped up to coordinate getting cabinets for Richards house being built by PHH…strong!

Richard came ready, even dressed the part and fit right in with the pax. Several moments stood out this morning for YHC:

  • 2.0s all over the place doing HIM things…Cooper (Scrappy's 2.0) won the whole dang thing…Kathryn (Auto's 2.0) claimed 2nd for the ladies and filled Richard in on her recent completion of a school project about the Vietnam War…Tuffy (YHC's 2.0) crushed the run then circled back for the 6 and helped push the chair for the first time on his own…Owen (Hoodie's 2.0) pushed the chair up the biggest hill he's ever seen…Abigail (Gray Ghost's 2.0) logging volunteer hours with PHH at the race
  • We had one rider that was unable to attend. Hoping to push David at a future SFN race.
  • Fenway and Frazier continue to pour everything into PHH…honored to stand among you men
  • Full Moon and Einstein led quite possibly the best paced Speed for Need race in our history…well done men
  • Richard giving 9 Lives a hard time for being in the Air Force
  • So many pax pushing for the first time was AWESOME! We didn't get to do a full training prior to the race so we trained on the fly today. Thank you to all the men that stepped up to make sure men were pushing safely with the chair.
  • Thanks to the Goatbusters for their continued support of Speed for Need. You men are the best.
  • Thanks to Lost Worlds Brewery for hosting an awesome 2ndF event after the 5K and to the donut food truck for the AWESOME donuts. Beer and donuts is a worthy combo.
  • Please comment with any stories from this morning. Also, please comment if YHC left out any pax that were involved with the race.
  • YHC is so humbled every time we get the opportunity and the honor to push a track commander at a race with Speed for Need. It is truly my favorite thing that has come out of F3. Thank you Tolkien and Nash for letting YHC play a small role in this beautiful non-profit and thank you to the men of F3 Isotope for continuing to show up and do AWESOME things! Until the next time…
