Speed for Need | Red White and Blue 7.4 Miler

20+ of the most generous and fastest Isotope pax celebrated the Fourth of July the best way possible, pushing two Vietnam Vets with Purple Heart Homes and Speed for Need. Here is their story:

0630

Thank you to Gnarly Goat, Popcorn, Poptart and Auto for all of your help in setting up the SFN tent in the expo area and for getting the chairs there. You men always show up!

0715

Bill shows up with a truck filled with handmade white crosses ready to ride in the blue chair. Hacker, Gray Ghost, Frazier, 8 Track, Full Moon, Thug, Honey Bee, The Count and Poptart take off with our Track Commander Bill to the start line and launch as planned at 0725.

0725

Auto, Enron, Slingshot, Frogger, Snoopy, 98 Degrees, Crab Legs, and YHC had an eventful start and pushed an empty silver chair to the Walgreens on Gilead to meet Track Commander Richard (more on that later)

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFULSKIN:

  • Wow just wow it feels amazing to be back behind a SFN chair with 2 Vietnam vets running with the pax
  • Team Silver Chair had to improvise and meet Richard at the Walgreens at Gilead. Richard couldn't get the race with the race traffic as he came in hot and is also an amputee unable to walk to us. So he got the VIP treatment and the silver chair provided door to door service. Strong work men!
  • Hacker took off and never looked back. Apparently he didn't get the ~9 min/mile memo. Cobains Thug, Full Moon, et al. YHC owes you a nicely paced SFN run.
  • TClaps to all the new pax that ran, pushed, and cheered on our Track Commanders and to all the pax that engaged the riders at the expo before and after the race. Bill and Richard were both characters and had stories upon stories to tell. You're gonna have to show up to the next race we support Purple Heart Homes to get the good stuff.
  • Thanks to Chap, Fenway, Elaine, Frazier and Gnarly Goat for all you do with Purple Heart Homes. There is a nice partnership brewing here between SFN and PHH. Let's keep it rollin'…
  • Thanks to Enron for sticking around after to help Richard get to his car and with logistics and to Poptart, Honey Bee and others for helping to break down. Appreciate you brothers.
  • Thanks to the pax for jumping back in. Several pax signed up last minute to run with us. You donated, you ran, you pushed but most importantly you loved on two men that needed some blessings in their lives. Thanks for giving them those blessings today.
  • Too much to write here but YHC will leave you with this…Bill and Richard needed this. They needed the comraderie. They needed the laughs and opportunities to tell stories. They needed SFN. They needed F3. They needed you. And you all showed up. Keep showing up. Keep looking for opportunities to jump in and engage. Even better look for opportunities to lead. The pax will always show up for you. YHC has no doubts that Richard and Bill will run with the pax again soon and hopefully we can engage with even more vets from PHH. Who pushes who?
